While top players in the smartphone game have been jumping on the notch design, Samsung has chosen not to get infected with the viral design. Well, the smartphone now comes with a different form of notch called the Infinity-O display. The Samsung Galaxy A8s is the first from the brand to feature this new outlook.

The Infinity-O display is Samsung’s way of showcasing a notch in the form of shape “O”. In the achievement of this feat, the Galaxy A8s takes up the status as the first phone with a camera in its screen.

I’ll dish out more details as we proceed, folks. So, stay with me.

Samsung Galaxy A8s Quick Review

Infinity-O design, as Samsung calls it, is the response to the whole notch craze that’s making rounds in the mobile phone world. Other forms of the notch in the company’s arsenal is the Infinity-U and Infinity-V designs. However, these notches haven’t made it into any smartphone as we speak.

Back to the topic, the punch-hole camera also gives the phone an 84.7% screen-to-body ratio. For you to know, the camera utilises a 24MP lens & f/2.0 aperture for its photography actions. Around the back, Samsung delivered as much as three cameras on this smartphone.

The camera qualities are as follows: 24MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens that uses f/2.4 aperture and depth-sensing 5MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture. In a vertical format, the cameras are arranged in a compartment wherein the main camera sits at the centre. It’s effortless to identify because of its gold-plated design. A fingerprint reader is sighted close to the triple cam setup for “you know what” functions.

Display-wise, the phone’s 6.4 inches LCD screen does justice to quality output of multimedia. It works with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution (Full HD+ resolution), 403PPI and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory spearhead the memory arena. There’s also an 8GB RAM iteration with the same internal storage.

Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy A8s is controlled by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chip. This 10nm chip packs Octa-core 2.2GHz Kryo CPU & Adreno 616 GPU. The latest Android OS, Android 9.0 Pie is the running software of this device. Meanwhile, the phone’s duration hinges on the 3,400mAh Li-Ion battery capacity.
